Interested in applying to be a Scratch curator?
We choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community.
When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you.
Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post on this thread, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Here's an example of one that I recently added to my favorites: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MitFan/874786

Interesting... Will there be a new row or just use the Featured row?

I would like to be a curator if possible.

I would like to be one too. I love platformers, but games with great ideas in them are cool too.

Awesome. I totally support this idea.

It'll be a whole new row, and will be titled "Projects curated by [curator's Name]."

That would be awesome! I want to do it, please! I might pick some very good projects that not many people know about because the person isn't famous.

I would like to be one. I love all of the games that make you say "Whoa." Like ones that take forever to make and are GREAT quality. And they wouldn't all be from people we all know, like archmage, or keroro645, or boinoinoi, lots of them would be from "unknowns", too. I think that's why I would be a great curator.
Thanks for your time

Hi Zelda123 - we'll probably change curators every few weeks.

I'd like to become a curator. I'm mainly interested in games that look like they have a lot of work put behind them.
The problem is there's 2 weeks of school left and this summer is going to be busy. I won't have internet access for most of august.

I'd become a curator, but I'm pretty busy as well.
Anyway, I like the idea - I just hope curators won't abuse their "powers" and pick only projects made by their friend, so something. But I guess they can change him/her if he's caught doing so.

I would like to become a curator, only so the projects that have been worked on really hard, and still don't get veiwed very much can get viewed. That is a new thing that could work out great!

While serving as curator, the Scratcher’s most recent Favorites will be featured in a row on the Scratch Homepage.
It sounds like SCRATCH will just automatically pick the three recent projects favored by the curator. But if I were curator, I would like some say in which three of my favorites appear on the home page. Would that be possible?

I like this idea so much!
I would really like to be a curator. However, I am still thinking about some things...
What if the current "curator" picks a violent project? It'd be shown off on the frontpage for about a week...

I would like to be a curator. My main interest in Scratch is about educational projects.

I suspect, since it is going to pick your most recent three favorites, that you could force it to pick the ones you want by unfavoriting and then refavoriting projects to manipulate the dates...kind of awkward maybe, but I bet it would work.
