How to make multiplayer: without mesh :D

In scratch 2.0, youll be able to use cloud storage. so my game stores the x and y positions of everyone playing the game and it gives them a separate sprite, so all players will be able to see each other as a sprite. let me know what you think

Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying some multi-player ideas in Scratch 2.0, when it's released as well!  But SciTecCf is correct - this forum is for non-Scratch stuff.  I'll move it to Project Ideas since that seems to be kind of what this is about  smile

Maybe that is just the estimated runtime.  The could get an amazing technological breakthrough along the way.  big_smile

now, why do that? use can use cloning, so why not?

it is for scratch. it's multiplayer gaming in scratch. ways of not using mesh networking.

Hows this good exactly? Yes its going to make it easier to do multilayer things. But it doesn't really advance anything. Just playing around with old bags.

What do you mean, "old bags"? This wasn't possible in Scratch before, except for Mesh, which only works offline, and is slow.

I'm going to convert all of my learning programs to multiplayer when 2.0 comes. My top priority would be learning chatbot  tongue  Anyway, 2.0 opens up TONS of possiblilties. And who said multiplayer gaming in scratch had to be fast? You could just as easily make a card game or something.

I only think that the multiplayer feature is only nesacary for famous scratchers as theyre will be alot of people playing it. unfamous scratchers will not because theyre online features would be like ghost town.

Not really. I'm not famous at all and look at my 50 bits and CM forum. Yes, they are multiplayer. Yes, people play them.
