Ok, you know the battle engine? Could you get the shapes the computer draws to consistently center in the screen? And as soon as laptop gets a scrolling engine we need to start on some basic functions. Here is a list:

Inventory
Spellbook
Health and Magic bars
Improve Battle System (Add choices of spells and stuff)
Save system (via codes)
Music

I think we should start with the inventory and spellbook stuff after the engine is complete.

Re: Mayhem Games

Scrolling Engine: Ok, I didn't know how big to make it, so I made it 3x3, I can easily add/remove planes. Scratch is having an error itself with putting the variables in front of the planes. I was going to add a "Refresh Planes" key but I didn't know if it would be professional to have on the project. Tell me if you want me to add it. Anything else I should do?  smile

Re: Mayhem Games

Updated the scrolling engine. ( Scrolling Engine V 1.1 )

When you reach the end of the screen, you no longer fall off, instead you move by x and y not ScrollX and ScrollY. I can remove it if it needs to be.

Sure, list em. Right now I don't think we need sprites, however we do need some ideas for items and monsters. Read Hotwire's storyline. Do you think you could come up with a list of items? (Characters are wizards, so staffs, wands, rings, robes, etc.)

Here are some monster names:
Fripple
Quacklebeast
Splonk
Polygoly
Juzzle
Hexapik
Pentapol
Septionk
Persontric
Fuzzbuzz
Gragnix

is that ok? I'm still thinking of some items  tongue

Don't you think the names should be abit more serious, but I guess it would be quite good.

here is a link to a polished up battle engine^

Also, I don't like the names, they don't sound too professional, they sound like something out of a children's book tbh :\

And I can set to work for some GUI in the scrolling engine now if you want me to.

The changing of how close the person has to be to the outline is easily adjustable; same with the shape sizes.

Ok, this is great. I think we need it to be a little more picky, because I keep getting 100% every time.

And, I came up with a name I kind of like:

GeometriQuest

What do you think?

Or; GeometrixQuest.

@the object recognization:

Should it be more or less picky? Or should it stay the same?

Hmm, I think we should keep it the same for now. When we get on working for the game I think we should change it as necessary.

@Violinty

Those are fine, but maybe we could come up with some less pokemon-ish names? I like some of them, but things like Fuzzle aren't the kind of thing we are going for.

Then we need character advancement and stuff. I was thinking of stat based stuff.

Like strength, intellect, constitution, etc.

Ok. We should come up with a few names and do a vote.

GeometriQuest
GeometrixQuest

Any others?

Good work! GUI is a good idea. Remember, we're going for a fantasy theme.

@laptop, I'd say object recognition is good as it is.

@Necro, I'll work on a version of the scrolling engine with a tileset and added GUI.
Also, I don't really see how we could incorporate stats...if the only method of battle is drawing shapes there would be nothing really to statistically improve.

Sorry, we aren't hiring right now. (I'm going to have to change the title.)

But, we'll get back to you if we need more members.

K GUYS: This is what we need to do.

MAKE COLLISION ENGINE.
PUT SCROLLING ENGINE IN BATTLE SYSTEM.
MAKE SPRITES.
MAKE GUI.

In that order I think.

Who wants to do what? I can start on a tileset and post it so you can see the art style.
