i hear people on scratch talking about stencyl a lot
i went to the site and saw what that it was for games and stuff and im considering downloading it and trying it out
but i need your opinion; is stencyl any good?

Meh. They make it unnecessarily complicated by having these "scene" things which I never really got the hang of. Apparently scenes will be in Scratch 2.0, too... :\
But yeah, there's a lot of features which wouldn't be missed if they got removed, but it would make it a lot easier if they weren't there.

I had the beta version of Stencyl before it got released to the public. I'm not sure how it is now, but it seemed okay back then. It does have a fairly huge learning curve; you will need to spend a good amount of time learning how Stencyl works.
My only major complaint is that its was, and probably still is, geared for people making games; so if you're someone who like the makes more than just games, then you might want to consider something else. I took a skim through your projects, you seem like the guy who's more into animations: Why not try Pencil, the free alternative to Flash animation?

i enjoy making a wide array of projects, from animations to art to games and everything inbetween
i used pencil once, but i stopped shortly after i really got into scratch. maybe ill try it again sometime :>

I downloaded it, but it was hard to get into. I may try it again, but Scratch/Snap! is fine for me now.
