Does?
Does scratch support .ogg sounds? I don't want my scratch to crash with losing my work. That's why I'm asking first.

i dont think .ogg files are even visible when selecting a sound to import

No, .ogg sounds don't work with Scratch. The kind of file you'd want to use is a .wav file, those are the best to use with Scratch.

I think .mp3 and .aiff work as well, though.

Yeah, but only some .mp3 files will work, Scratch doesn't like others. .wav files work pretty much all the time.
