And I need some help with it. On GIMP, how do you place a picture of the Scratch Cat on a signature?

File > Open As Layers > select file > Open.

You can simply drag an image file onto the layers window. It will import the image as a new layer, and will automatically resize it if it is too large for your picture. The you can move it, scale it, and then right click on the cat layer in the layers panel and select "Anchor Layer" or "Merge Down".

Can't you just save a photo of the Scratch cat, upload it as image, and then just draw around it or something? (I'm no GIMP expert, but I've done it a few times.)
