It's dumb.
I don't want to flick my fingers all over the place to access anything.
I want the file system, shortcuts, an actual OS, the start menu, etc.You can still access the desktop interface if you don't want metro. ( read: if you are not using a tablet)
Oh cool.
I'll probably never change to 8 though.
Actually you have to use the desktop as just another "full screen app". Very annoying.
Windows 8 is just a step backward. Not everyone owns a tablet Microsoft, a lot of people own desktops, and want them to function as desktops

Perhaps, although it's still in development and things are still changing.

Very.
Woah, hang on. Why is it funny? Mac's look the best by far and they have better graphics.
End of.

Well one, that's opinion, and two, he accidentally said 'atheistically pleasing'

Why do people think that graphics are the only thing that make computers?
Seriously, people use different OSs for different purposes.

For example: I use Windows for price (half, if not a quarter of the price of a comparable MacBook), familiarity, and let's not forget: more compatible apps.

I love Windows. I personally dont like the Mac interface, or the fact that you cant edit ANYTHING whatsoever. However, I'm not going to press my will. People like different things. I've never tried Linux, but I wont convert.

Ooooookay?
I've had a lot of experience using Macs, although not owning one myself. It's an insult to me to call me unfamiliar with its GUI. And I really just don't like it. It's not a matter of familiarisation, other people's opinions, or anything else. It's just my personal opinion that Lubuntu and XP look better than OS X and Windows 7.And I respect your opinion. XP just seems unintuitive though.
How so?

no, the funny part was that he said "atheistically pleasing" rather than "aesthetically pleasing"

Microsoft paint sucks anyways, so that isn't really a disadvantage.

Veggie considers MS Paint a necessity for his computer though.

You have to admit, Windows is a must for professional gaming.

Yes he does. I hate it
@Communist: One word — Bootcamp.

Windows is pretty good. It is really good for developing, because there are tons of development tools, and not very many for Mac. Apple is also going for a more closed approach and controlling the user experience, while Windows is more open and customizeable.
Another thing: Mac OS X runs on top of BSD, while Windows runs on top of the Windows NT kernel.
Anyway, for all you Mac users with boot camp, there is also Reverse Boot Camp.

I'd say a mac is better if you have no idea how computers work.
They have a simple interface, and a very much needed thing in the windows: force quit. I'm typing this on a mac, so of course I'm gearing to the mac side (but it's a 2006 mac mini, so that kinda brings it down a notch).
At my school, it takes about 3 minutes to load any program. If that happens to my mac, I can force quit and retry, and it does it amazingly fast the next time.
If you're a gamer, go with windows.
When I go on Steam, I see all these awesome games. When I click the Mac section, about three fourths of those games are GONE (and since I have a mac mini from 2006, I can only play about 1/3 of the mac section for games). I heard from a friend, that the graphics processor for some windows is larger then the computer processor. It's the ultimate gaming computer.
If you're a programmer, I'd recommend (but not saying it's better) to stay with mac. My father is a programmer, and his company gets him the best macbook possible. And again, I'm recommending it due to the all important force quit feature. Many times with scratch it glitched up on me and I had to force quit it. I couldn't have done that with windows.
If you're an average person, knowing somewhat about computers (like how to go through files and such), then go with windows. It's much cheaper then the mac. It's that simple.
Just one thing: Don't get a mac mini. They suck.

1. I'm recommending and saying saying it IS better to go with Windows, because it has much better tools for developing software.
2. Windows also has a similar feature, called the process list, and it is a lot more detailed and lets you quit background tools as well.

Task manager on Windows is CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and actually works better than force quit.
The dev tools for Mac are built in but I bet you could find a better downloadable version for Windows easily.

You can't develop for OSX or iOS in Windows, your argument is invalid. Buy a MacBook and boot camp Windows.

But it's a con to HAVE to buy the company's computer to develop for it.
EDIT: read that post wrong because of the double "saying" understand now.
