Anyone got tips for New Scratchers?

Submit them here! I'll add them to this thread, but to start out I'll get some.

1. Use the correct forums
Making a topic in the wrong forum is a sure-fire way to get your helpfulness level lowered. Remember, if you have a question, post it in 'Questions about Scratch" or "Help with Scripts". Want to talk about something awesome you made? Making and Creating. Found a cool game, book, or sport? Reading and Playing. If you accidentally post it somewhere else, it's okay. We all make mistakes.

2. Check for duplicate topics
Before you post, search for topics that already exist. And a note, Minecraft is the most duplicated topic ever. The real one is in Making and Creating.

3. DONT BE MEAN
Never ever ever be mean. Dont put others down, and never say something is stupid because you dont like it. Never flame, troll or spam.

Re: Anyone got tips for New Scratchers?

I think that new Scratchers should check out the featured projects to see all of the awesome projects that are being made. That way, they'll be encouraged to keep on Scratching.

Read the 'READ THIS BEFORE SUGGESTING ANYTHING' thread before suggesting anything.

Re: Anyone got tips for New Scratchers?

You should eventually check out the TBG Forums, new Scratchers. You'll have lots of fun there!

Oh gosh, you have NO idea how happy you just made me. Maybe now I can FINALLY fix the wall detection without breaking floor detection.  big_smile

If you're referring to me, I'll have to ask you to look up the definition of the word, for what I was doing, wasn't that.

Re: Anyone got tips for New Scratchers?

There's rather a contradiction between "check for duplicate threads" and "never necropost". Surely it's better to revive an old thread than start a duplicate? Bumping up old posts can be very helpful!
