The forums have so many topics that it's not even funny. New,old, RIDICOUSLY old, and I don't wanna say old. REALLY RIDICOUSLY OLD.
Clean up your old topics or have Scratch take them down. It's our faults that the servers are slowing down!!!

No, just no.
Just leave them alone. These old topics aren‘t causing any trouble.

I say keep them because they can be valuable to refer to the early experiences of the first Scratchers.

I don't think they're really slowing down the server. Does it seem like it to you?

No.
They can be helpful to new scratchers asking a question. I find it not needed at all.

They might be a part of why... But still, it can clutter our forums...
How? How does it "clutter our forums". Old topics never slapped you across the face.

And, old topics fall to the back of a forum, so there is no point.

The physical database size doesn't matter. The number of records don't matter.
In my experience the biggest problem that you are going to run in to is not size, but the number of queries you can handle at a time.
It's kind of pointless to talk about "database performance", "query performance" is a better term here. And the answer is: it depends on the query, data that it operates on, indexes, hardware, etc.

No no no no no.
History counts.
I'm a Scratch researcher.
I like to know old events.
If all the old posts were deleted, I would know half of what I do now about scratch.
Let's say Misc. and I&M were deleted?
Nobody else would ever know about 'Scratch Gold' or it's recurrence.
Nobody would know about the spam attack that stopped images.
Nobody would even know what Misc. was!
I do not suppourt.

When the forums are pretty inactive I tend to look at Misc. and I&M, and I actually quite enjoy it (the community, while not as friendly as today's, were definitely a lot funnier). If they were taken away I'd have nothing to do but keep refreshing the page and hope that someone's posted.
