Well, which do you think is better? I like Deadmau5 (obviously) but my sister likes Skrillex.
I also see this debate on YouTube, and thought i'd ask.

Deadmau5 isn't dubstep, so why would you compare them?

Would you rather I compare dubstep with something else?

Deadmau5 is progressive/electro house. Skrillex is... I don't even know. How can you compare the two? Personally I prefer deadmau5 (not a Skrillex fan) but they're two vastly different producers.

I listened to a Skrillex song and it actually sounded like a car alarm going off, I can actually make better in FL studio with an hour practise. Deadmau5 is something I'd rather listen to, it's more progressive and more planned out, it sounds like he actually put some thought into it.

Skrillex 'cause I've heard of him/her/them.

I am a dubstep guy, but I really only enjoy "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" and "Bangarang". The others are kinda strange, like "My Name is Skrillex"

I <3 Bangarang.
Skrillex, hands down.

Skrillex is brostep (extreme dubstep that doesn't follow the basic rules) and sometimes dirty electro (due to the fact that he adds no drop [bass or melody] and no other key features of any dubstep songs (bass wobble etc. etc.).
Deadmau5 is a progressive house producer, but is also known for electro house (Some Chords, Ghosts N Stuff) and in this case, dubstep (One Trick Pony, Raise Your Weapon).
One cannot compare the two for their native genres, but can do so if one or the other experiments with another's native genre. In my opinion, deadmau5 and Skrillex are both excellent in their OWN genres.
