^^^^ this
I would be fine waiting 1-2 minutes for something like a web page to load.

Also, it depends on what constitutes as good graphics. I don't particularly think the shiny, sleek, anti-aliased, and partially transparent graphics of Mac OS X and Windows 7 are 'good'; I prefer the simple graphical look of Windows XP as well as the way things are laid out. That's a huge reason why I like Lubuntu; it looks very similar.

Well, let's see. If it takes five seconds to load a page, then each page that you load is five seconds extra. If I am viewing fifty web pages, that is 50*5 extra seconds, or 250 seconds. Divided by 60, that is four extra minutes per fifty web pages. To go the other way, let's see how many pages it is for one extra hour. 60*60 is 3600 seconds. Divided by five, that is 720 web pages adding up to an extra hour. Not really that many.
Also, minutes per page is intolerable for anyone. Please explain to me how to use the web that slowly.

Do other things while you're waiting! When I had dial-up, Flash animations on the Lego site would take two hours to load  tongue

Firstly, isn't speed really useful? You don't want to waste 5 seconds waiting for a page to load. Not very productive. Secondly, good graphics always makes it more appealing imo.

It's very annoying when it takes longer than four minutes just to switch between two tabs on a web browser.

For the record, the iPad 3 has 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi).

There's a lot of of tablets with high definition screens.

They all have a lower pixel density than the iPad 3, and they all cost almost as much, or more than the iPad.

As for people who are trying to put themselves on airs by saying how slow their computers and browsers are, the more you wait for something to happen, the more time you spend not doing anything, and the more time you consequently waste.

If you want to get more things done, get a faster computer or optimise your current one. A clean OS install would fix up most slow computers.

And veggie's comment on XP being a superior GUI, sure XP was a great advancement in the PC world, but it still was, and is a painful combination of bright blues and greens. Also, it bothers me that I can see jpeg compression-like artifacts on the green start button.

i personally think the blue setup for xp looks marvelous

At least it's better than Mac OS X's combination of silvers and silvers :'(

And you can change the colour combination too, you know :L
I never actually like stare at the Start button but after further inspection, those look a whole lot more like GIF indexing artifacts than JPEG compression artifacts

I dunno if it's just me, but I love the colours.

Oh and to what you said about the speed and stuff I actually do stuff while waiting for things to load so it's okay

Cool! I use Lubuntu a lot of the time too. Unfortunately, some things like my printer and tablet don't work with it because they don't make the drivers for Linux  hmm

PC's are better for making YoutubePoop. I mean, when i saw a YoutubePoop that was made on a PC i laughed soooo hard! Mac's are just better in general, i think. I have both a mac and a PC. I use my mac more, though.

You don't realise how atheistically pleasing the Mac OSX GUI is. You only understand once you own a Mac for yourself. An actual Mac. Plus, the OSX theme is generally considered to be the best OS theme in the world.

Yes, I know. Olive green as well as silver. The zune theme is not bad though.

I remember I read something that conveyed productivity in a good way.

It said something like "The more productive you are, the more you get done, the sooner you finish, and the more time you have left for Angry Birds."

I don't play computer games much, but it's a good example.

Ooooookay?
I've had a lot of experience using Macs, although not owning one myself. It's an insult to me to call me unfamiliar with its GUI. And I really just don't like it. It's not a matter of familiarisation, other people's opinions, or anything else. It's just my personal opinion that Lubuntu and XP look better than OS X and Windows 7.

Also, you are just confirming the hipster stereotypes about loving anything that can be described as "intuitive." (I type on my iPad)

Yeah, it is 8  mad

It's dumb.

I don't want to flick my fingers all over the place to access anything.
I want the file system, shortcuts, an actual OS, the start menu, etc.
