It uses a special port, but if it cannot use that, it goes back to using standard ports. Can you tell me which project you were viewing and what operating system and browser you were using?

Every cloud project.

Windows 7 Premium

Google Chrome and I tried IE.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

I'm sure this has already been mentioned, if it has, I agree. When you save a project, a window could come up asking whether or not you want it to be public. Then you can share what you want, and keep the other stuff to yourself.

You'll be able to share projects from the studio or the project's page.

You should be able to choose if you want to share a project.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

Can I report bugs here? Well, I have a few:
Variable arguments: if you type %s, %b %a, etc it parses them and adds arguments in the variable.
You can drop reporters into definition blocks. (eg define [my block] --> define <key %k pressed>
when renaming variables the variable blocks grow but the block which it is in doesn't respond to that.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

The cloud has a very high possibility of enabling multiplayer.... That is if the cloud is fast enough to change a variable 20-30 times a second...

Well it was like changed once every second in the prototype, hopefully it will be faster than that

Put this in mind that the speed of the variable changing will also depend on how fast your internet is. Since I never really experimented with cloud variables in the prototype (mainly because I couldn't make any cloud variables, which kinda sucked), I never really got a feel for how fast it really is.

Scratch 2.0 should have a Disable Remixing button so people can't steal your work.  sad

That's not going to happen. If you don't want people to learn from you, you're free to learn a different language.  wink

You should only be aloud to see projets when they are finished. I don't want others to se an incomplete, bad version of what I'm programming.

You almost certainly won't be able to see unfinished projects. If it will be allowed, I'll just make my projects in the offline version instead.

i think you should have the option to show unfinished projects but not have it be like automatic so that if youre taking suggestions people can see but if youre being all secret about it or just plain dont want people to see then it can be hidden

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

The way it will work is, you can choose whether a project is "shared", or "unshared". By default, they are unshared. You can then share them, which opens them to the public.
Sound good?
It's rather like it is now.

Would it be to similar to private messaging if they implement "Share to collab" etc. That way, a secret collab doesn't have to put their project out. Or possibly, they could implement unlisted projects, like YouTube does.

That sounds good. Thanks for clearing that up. :3

Will you be able to unshare a project too?

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

I think we should shoose if our scripts can be seen or not on any project, demo or real.  I'm tired of people copying other people's projects, especially by importing so it doesn't say who it's based off, and a way to hide the scripts would be awesome so others won't take the scripts.  I made the first 360 degree platforming engine on Scratch but do not want to share it until all my games using it are done so I have the first Sonic game with it.  If there is a way to choose hide and show the scripts and disable and eneble remixing and importing I would appreciate that because Scratch would be a lot more efficient to those who want their work to stay theirs.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Update: Moving to the Cloud

Oh, and will there be a way to save progress in the game, so if someone is playing it online they can save it to their Scratch accounts and continue from that point next time they go to the project?

Quite possibly, with cloud variables and lists.
