Age

Is asking for one's age or giving out your age considered private information? Just curious.

Re: Age

Yes, but if you don't ask anything else then I don't think it's too bad.

Re: Age

I don't really consider it so. Nothing's gonna happen if someone over the Internet knows your age (as long as that's the only thing they know).

Re: Age

I doubt it counts. On the thread by the scratch team where the last set of Community Moderators were chosen, they all gave their ages. If a moderator does it, surely we can!

Re: Age

Probably not, as there are tons of people around the world that are the same age as you. If you do give out your age, though, you should give a range (i.e. 15-17 years old).

On Mod Share, it does that because we don't ask for your birthday, just the year, so you can be two possible ages.

Age should be fine, as long as it is not their exact date of birth.

Age should be fine because it is pretty generic.

July 22? (well, it's the only other logical possibility, because there isn't a 22 month or a 27 month)

Yeah, he's from the UK.  tongue

Is there even records of who was born when? (publicly available)

I think there are. However, if you give your age, that just gives a range of 365 possible days.

It's not like someone is going to stalk you if you tell them your age, so I think it's okay.  smile

I have posted my age here before, though. I really don't see why it matters though, even if people know your exact age. There's thousands of people born each day, noone will be able to track you down by knowing your date of birth.

It narrows it down quite a lot, especially if they know your general location.

Which they shouldn't.
