Whenever I try to color the background black it turns to a slight blue when I get out of it. I have one sprite that has all black and another similar one that's the same blue color as the background. I don't know why that one is black and the other one is blue. I've seen this before and don't know what causes it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I don't know of a fix, but a workaround is to use a sprite to serve as the background instead of just coloring the background stages.

If you edit it in an external paint program and then import, you can make it almost black, but Scratch still adds 1/256 part blue for some reason. But that's better than the 1/32 blue you get using the built in graphic editor.

You mean Squeak? There are some rounding errors in coloring imported images.

It's not, it happens to everyone. It's quite annoying.

Probably, you actually need a really good monitor and/or eyes to see it. It's very dark blue. This color █████ in fact. I can just barely make out the difference if I paste it on a pure black background.
