Un-ignoring
If you put someone on your ignore list for a bit, then take them off, do you recieve all the messages that person sent you? Or will they show up, but you don't get notified?

I'll explain with a metaphor: Imagine your inbox is inside your house and messages are like birds flying in through the windows. The window that the birds from the blocked person come in from is closed. The birds fly into it and then they fall somewhere outside (and feed the cats). If you open the window, the new birds can get in, but those birds that were sent while the window was closed (the person was blocked) are gone (in the bellies of the neighbourhood strays)
