Does any body have Mac OS X? If you do try Garageband! It is the best music making computer program ever made! From the Finder (a place where you can look up stuff), you can translate your songs into .wav and then you can use them on Scratch!

I beg to differ! I find Garageband to be painful many reasons, these being some:
- It's hard to create something original if you don't know a lot about music. If you use the pre-made tracks, it's not very original. 'Shanghai Symphony' is a very good use of Garageband, and how you can make it original, but obviously that person was some musical genius.
-Where is my clarinet tracks?! No more needs to be said. XD
-It's hard to put emotion into it... We had to use it in Music Technology class and it was hard to create the feeling that our teacher requested.
-None of the tracks seem to fit together very nicely...
-VOCALOID and UTAU are better than Garageband any day.
You can probably translate anything to something Scratch- friendly.

GarageBand was meant for people who have knowledge about music. That's why one of the inputs is to actually play an instrument...
But if you want feeling, play an instrument yourself. It's a computer. They don't have feelings. (unless it's glados)
And I don't think GarageBand was meant for converting songs either...

I don't know, GarageBand seems like it's meant for people who don't know much about music if you ask me. Of course you'd need to know the very basics, but given that knowledge, pretty much anyone can use the program.
What I really like though, is GarageBand for iOS. I just love the interfaces and the fact it isn't meant just for song writing, but to simulate instrument playing.

I like it, because I know a bit of piano (basically which notes go to which keys) and can convert that music to other instruments easily.

I have an iPod version but I mainly use it for recording

It is very good. Just play around with it. You will get used to using it.

Apple's words:
GarageBand
Wanted: Rock 'N Roll Heroes
No experience required.
Who says you can't put emotion into a software instrument? http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=gM3tyulpxJA You really can't argue that these completely computerized vocals have intense emotion here. They are a software, a human didn't sing it first.
And~~~
It doesn't matter if it wasn't meant for converting songs if it CAN... XD

It's a pretty good program, but it's not for me.

Okay maybe i worded that wrong. It was meant for anyone, but for maximum use you should have knowledge of music. Just stop flaming, no one likes people who purposely cause arguments. This thread is for supporting garageband... Everyone will have their personal opinion and you cannot control ours.

I wasn't trying to control your opinion, LOL! I was having fun comparing our opinions. X3 But if you weren't, as Miku-sama says 'kimi ni, sayonara goodbye~!'

Garageband is awesome for recording, although it doesn't have as many effects as Audacity, but is a pleasure to use.
It also has fantastic virtual amps for guitars, so it's fun to experiment with that as well

I find it fun to play around with, create songs, and so on. I use it to make songs, take pictures out of movies so I just get the sound and so on.

I think you use iMovie for taking pictures out of movies, getting the audio track off movies etc.

iMovie is a video editing software.

I use Garageband, but I don't use the premade tracks. And you can put emotion into Garageband, even though its a computer.
