Star wars

I like Star wars... Well, most of it. Here's my opinion on each movie(remember they started with 4)

Episode 4(the first one made)- this is my favorite! The story line is so much easier to follow than the others.
Episode 5-this one was not so great. I didn't find it too exciting. It's my 3rd favorite though.
Episode 6-incredible! This was great! So much action and adventure!
Episode 1-what happened I this series. This is actually the one in theaters now. Why would I watch it there when I have it on VHS at home? This is so boring and dumb.
Episode 2- this is very hard to follow. The stuff happening in star wars comics is interfering with the movies. I can't even tell what they're talking about. Very hard to follow.
Episode 3-this was actually descent. I enjoy watching but again, I don't understand it because of the comics. The ending was good though. Too hard to follow.

Re: Star wars

The Christmas special is far superior to the sequels and tv shows.

And the Christmas special was terrible.

Re: Star wars

WHAT COMICS?
I understand the plotline of all three of the prequels perfectly fine and haven't laid a single hand on a comic.

By the way, easy to follow storyline does not determine how good a movie is. Complicated ones are often more fun to try and follow.

Episode 5 was the best.

(I thought we had all agreed serious Star Wars talk only involves the Original Trilogy?)

Re: Star wars

Interesting.  Episode 3 is actually my least favorite.  My ranking is probably something like this: 4,5,1,6,2,3.

Anyway, I agree with soupoftomato that a complex story line doesn't necessarily lead to a bad movie.  Many adult-oriented movies (not necessarily PG-13 or R) are far more complex than Star Wars, which is, in my opinion, not exactly full of devious plots or secret plans, particularly as the audience is pretty much omniscient.

Ugh.
Ugh.
Ugh.

I can't allow opinions that have the prequels in their top 3 movies.

watch 4-6 then 1-3
because when they were made 4-6 were 1-3
so don't watch them in chronological order
watch them in the order they were made  cool

I liked them all, I don't know what comics you are talking about, and it's easy to follow, but only if you are a true fan. (like me)

Re: Star wars

A true fan of anything doesn't go hating and flaming on one part of it, and loving the other. That's just not how it works. If that is the case with someone, they are a fan of that one, or those few movies, not a true fan of the whole thing.

there are those who would argue that the prequels and originals are two completely different things and shouldnt even be related to one another so umm it really depends on how you look at it

There were both made by the same man, called by the same name, and a part of the same story. They have no basis for that argument.

they were also made years apart by a man who changed very, very much over time

even so, they are two very different things and one can reasonably claim they belong in two separate categories as can they put them together in one
