How to find file in order to transfer it

My son began making some backgrounds and sprites in Scratch on my computer and I'd like to transfer them to his.  When I open Scratch I'm able to bring up the file he saved these items as, but when I try going to the file folder on the computer  I only see the files that came with Scratch.  So I have no idea how to transfer this file when I can't locate it, and yet it appears in the Scratch program itself.

Hmm, that's an odd problem.  hmm

Well, if, for some reason, you can't find the files, you can always use SCRATCH to upload the projects to the website and then your son could download the files from the website. Then you could delete the files afterwards from the website.
