Meh, it's actually not an uncommon ship. Personally, there are only a few ships that I find weird, mostly ones involving Celestia/Luna.

apparently lots of people ship them, partly because there was a part in A Canterlot Wedding (during the fight scene with the changelings) where Rainbow picks up Fluttershy, moves her head towards Fluttershy's head, and there's a smoochy sound effect. There's no actual kissing animation, though.

Nah, there was plenty of RainbowShy before that.

Why would you even ship anything?

It's not like it will do anything. It just makes you look unintelligent if you are going to waste time wanting fictional characters to become a couple.

(Somebody please give a well reasoned response and not just get mad at me. Opinion!)
