This forum is for new Scratchers.

This forum is for:

Confusions

New Scratchers often get confused if a topic goes into the New Scratchers or Questions About Scratch forum. Scratchers, however, know that help not related to scripts must go in Questions About Scratch.

Some new Scratchers even get confused if a script-related question should go in New Scratchers or Help With Scripts.

Show and Tell

This forum is for material not related to Scratch. However, topics with inappropriate subjects like politics, religion, harmful subjects, and * (which were all popular on the Miscellaneous forum) are not allowed.

Confusions

Many people post things that should go in the "Things I'm Making and Creating" forum.

Questions about Scratch

This forum is where Scratchers post help topics like:

* questions about the Scratch program;
* questions about the Scratch website and forums;
* guidance about the above;
* discoveries about the above; and
* observations about all of the above.

Confusions

Many Scratchers post topics that are:

* consistent of simple information known by many new Scratchers (should be in New Scratchers);
* script-related (should be in Help With Scripts);
* rather advanced (should be in Advanced Topics);
* suggestions (should be in Suggestions);
* discoveries of bugs in Scratch (should be in Bugs and Glitches); or very occasionally
* sensor-related questions (should be in Connecting to the Physical World).

Advanced Topics

This forum is for advanced topics related to:

* Scratch modifications like Rocket or Insanity;
* Shift-Click-R;
* Editing the System Browser;
* Advanced scripting;
* Scratch Extensions like Clutter; and
* Scratch interacting with external programs.

Confusions

Despite its name, this forum is not for alternatives to Scratch, besides the Scratch modification BYOB. Some Scratchers post such subjects in that forum.

Suggestions

This forum is an alternative to the Scratch Suggestions that allows new Scratchers to vote.

Confusions

Non-Scratch-related suggestions aren't allowed on the forums. Suggestions related to fixing bugs, on the other hand, should go in Bugs and Glitches.

Also, some topics like Pixel! end up in Suggestions instead of Show and Tell because they're suggesting that users should view it.

Bugs and Glitches

This forum is for problems related to Scratch. Despite its name, topics don't have to be related to bugs.

Confusions

PicoBoard-related problems should go in Connecting to the Physical World, and not here. Posts about scripting problems should go in Help With Scripts.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I see what you mean.

That's not what schusteralex meant though (presumably). I'm pretty sure he meant don't use excuses such as the one I mentioned earlier (though obviously not quite as stupid) to make it fit.

If a topic is inappropriate (e.g. topics about sexual content, or topics titled something like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why?! WHY?!) or doesn't fit in any forum, it will be closed or deleted.
