Hi, my name is schusteralex2and I would love to help the scratch community by becoming a curator.
     One of my favorite things to do on the scratch website is to look through the surprise channel for new and innovative projects that are not already famous. The amount of great projects that are out there but unheard of is overwhelming, and I would like to help these great projects get the fame that they deserve. I would curate a wide range of projects, but I especially like versions of real games programmed into scratch, but with new and innovative features. For example, a battleship game but with new types of ammunition, or a version of pac-man with new powerups. I also would curate games that have a new and innovative style of gameplay or objective. I would not only curate games though. I enjoy projects where a sprite draws objects, such as trinary's Drawn-Flight. I have suggested many projects to be featured also, and one was actually featured: Soduku. I would not curate any projects that have been on the front page within the last 6 months, have more than 100 views, or 20 love-its. I would add a new project every day to make sure many people got a chance to be front-paged, and I would try to find projects by new scratchers to curate so that they would be encouraged to create more projects. Who is the next curator after Legolas_greenleaf? I am not sure if I asked this in the right place but if you know the answer to my question could you tell me (preferably tell me on my scratch projects because I don't usually check this forum post xD)

It seems like all the popular Scratchers are becoming curators. "sigh"

WHY:
Most projects don't get on the front page. They just get into the newest projects category for a few minutes, then they vanIsh. Unfortunately, some of these projects are very good. If I was chosen to be curator, then these projects would soon become legends. Remember Kaj? Well, he/she was a Scratcher who claimed that his projects weren't famous, and then threatened to destroy Scratch. With me, that would never happen again.

HOW:
I would curate projects using this key:
Programming: /5
Art: /5
Sound: /5
Appropriate-ness: /5
Below 10 Views/Love-its/Favorites: /10

I will explain why I chose this key:
Programming: Explains how much is complex. This doesn't matter. The project can be complex, or the project can be small.
Art: Creativity of using the Scratch Paint Editor or any other paint program to create art
Sounds: The 3rd most important part of this key. Sounds range from sound effects to full-time songs. Sounds is an important part of this key, because the sounds rely on the art. For example, if a project has a slow character, it would be best to put in a slow song, than a hyper song.
Appropriate-ness: The 1st important part of this key. Appropriate-ness defines if it's suitable for children or not. If it isn't suitable, then I wouldn't curate it. Instead I would flag it.
Below 10 Views/Love-its/Favorites: The 2nd important part of this key. If it's below 10 views/love-its/favorites, it will be curated. If it isn't, then I would not curate it. I would instead say to the project creator, “If it doesn't get above 10 views/love-its/favorites in the [time left as curator divided by 2], I will curate it.”

Whom:
I would curate users with:
No Fame (No front paged project)
Who have been on Scratch for at least 1 month
Who have a variety of projects

What:
I would curate:
Platformers (Raycasters, Scrollers, Static)
Animations (Funny ones not ones with just the Scratch Cat walking around)
Simulation: (Like Cloning Machines, Chat, Gravity)
I already have most of my projects picked out.

I especially like the games that are original. Platformers are OK but they need something very little other games have. I would really like to be a curator!

I did that! I made my own scratchblock!

Look my first message was terrible.
But I want a second chance.
I want to be a curator because I want to make people happy.
I got curated and I got so happy.
I worked long and hard on my game but got no actual attention.
Then Legolas_Greenleaf curated my game after about a week.
I was so happy.
My game got famous.
I was super happy.
My game went fom 80 to 300 in about a day.
I got a taste of the spotlight.
And now I want other people to get a taste of it.
I even invented my own type of curating.
If somebody commented a game that was good I put in a section of the description called fan games.
I was a bout to release a whole project about fan games when the curator changed.
I thought I was sad at first.
Then I realized I was interested in being a curator.
And I want to be a curator because I want people to be as happy as I was.
My game now has over 1,000 views.
And I had some fan games that deserved more than I did.
And  I tried to make them have that.
But nothing really changed.
I had no real ability to make people as happy as I was.
I also wanted people to play quality games.
And my game has a few glitches.
My game makes people happy by playing it.
But I wanted people to be happier.
My game had lots of glitches so some people were not so happy.
I wanted people to be happier.
By playing a game.
That made people happier than mine did.
And that is why I want to be a curator.
Really bad.

I would like to post another entry.
I wrote a small speech:

Many scratchers strive to be curated. They work long and hard on interesting projects that deserve to be featured, but they end up with only a few views, and maybe a love-it. Their projects show creativity, hard work, and amazing scripting. That is why, if I find one, I usually give it a love-it, but that is not enough. I would love to be able to do more.

Me and my collab worked hard on our project, Gray, and Legolas_Greenleaf curated it. I felt like I was in heaven all day. I would love it if I could have the opportunity to give other hard-working scratchers this feeling of accomplishment. They truly deserve to be curated.

Projects that are basic on classics with interesting twists are particularly appealing to me. Like maybe a platformer with portals, or a project where you design something and have the ability to share it with others. Projects with fun twists are always great.

I would like to become a curator so that great scratchers can finally get that sweet taste of victory. They can finally wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and say, "Hey! Your project got curated!" They can finally get what they deserve: the front page.
