Re: Adobe Photoshop CS5

I don't have Photoshop CS, but I have Photoshop Elements 8 and 10.

EDIT: I just got Photoshop CS6 Beta. It's so epic!

Re: Adobe Photoshop CS5

I have determined that first I want to get a laptop, then Photoshop. (both using my student discounts, of course)

Re: Adobe Photoshop CS5

I have both Gimp and Photoshop, and Photoshop is far better. If you're more of an artist than a photographer, I recommend Illustrator.

I pirated it once, it was the first thing I pirated, but I felt guilty and uninstalled it.

It was useless. GIMP is much better  smile

GIMP is good if you're just doing stuff for fun and only simple stuff, Photoshop is for complex things and pictures.

Re: Adobe Photoshop CS5

When I bought a tablet, it came with Adobe Photoshop, no charge. Of course, I never use it because it's confusing and an old version, so I just draw with Paint Tool SAI which, in my opinion, is much easier and better.

It's technically a "trial" although it probably will just last until the end of the beta. IDK, lol. XD

Re: Adobe Photoshop CS5

We have CS5 at school in my computer graphics class. It's really cool. I haven't used GIMP though, so I can't really compare the two.  tongue

Get Gimp 2.8 (the new version) and then choose Windows > Single window mode.

As for photoshop being confusing... I guess it's harder to use if you're switching from something more basic like PDN.

Also, try to use grammer in your posts. It makes them more readable  tongue

I actually got quite comfortable in the Photoshop interface fairly quickly. I was also annoyed by all of GIMP's windows (and the fact that the layers window did not open on startup). but with the new Single Window Mode it is more like the layout of Photoshop. I still prefer Photoshop better, although between GIMP and Inkscape I may have most of the tools needed to compete with Photoshop.
