Remember when the families were limited on the number of children they could have?
And Jonas had that movie where his father killed a child, that is abortion >
I thought the name of the place and the everday terms in the book were generic, i read a similar book that did the same. What's wrong with abortion?
That's homicide, not abortion
There is a difference
Ah, so it was after the period where a child is sentient. Like I said, abortion's fine, but murder (which I'm assuming this is) is not. I need to find my copy of it and rears.

A really great young-adult dystopian novel I'm reading right now is called Divergent, by Veronica Roth. Usually I don't like teen dystopian books, but this one really stands out. Anyone else read it?

Fire-us. It was really stupid IMO. (And the name!) It looks like Fire Us but it's really about a world where a virus called the fire-us killed off all the adults. So cliche.
Maybe the author should be... *takes off sunglasses* ...FIRED. Ba-dum, tish.
Seriously, though, dystopias are awesome. I really want to read 1984 sometime.

The Boy Who Dared is historical fiction about a German boy living during World War 2. Would that count as dystopian?

I haven't read that, but based on your description, I would say probably not. Most dystopian books take place in fictional societies.

The Hunger Games, The Giver and The City of Ember. I love Dystopian books because they all have a moral-- the same moral-- we should all get along and take care of the world so it doesn't turn into a horrible place.
Actually i prefer it to turn into a bad place so we can overthrow and punish the government or organization that caused it.
That really is interesting.
I also like Dystopian books that have a huge war or plague.

I am working a dystopian manga set in Australia, and it does not involve heroes fighting an evil corporation

Then read The Giver. You won't regret it, trust me.
Animal Farm isn't dystopian, I have to agree. It's an allegory. Also, the one about everyone under the sea; you're talking about Dark Life, right?Yes, that's it! I'm glad I got it for free, because to be honest, it wasn't the best.
I got it at my school book fair, and I liked it.
I got it on amazon and I liked it. I don't think I'll read the sequel though.
