why do some programs not like exported sounds?

Why do some programs not like exported sounds?  sad

When I try opening an exported sound in "windows media player" (I use windows)
I get this error message:
"An audio codec is needed to play this file."

And then an icon in the corner saying: "codec acquired"
(not sure if this is in all windows or just vista)

But it opens fine in "quick time player"

And a bunch more programs do not like exported sounds!  sad

Can you help?  big_smile

Re: why do some programs not like exported sounds?

Do the exported sounds have different file extensions on them? :S Windows Media Player might not be compatible with some extensions, I don't know  hmm

Re: why do some programs not like exported sounds?

You need to download the right codec. Say, on .MP3 files, two of the same sound on two different files, they could both be different types, different codecs, therefore you need to download an add-on.

Sorry if you didn't understand a word, I get that a lot.

Anyway, you just need to download the right codec.

There are 10 types of people in this world: Those who understand trinary, those who don't, and those who think this is the same old signature.
