For SCIENCE! :D

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/cheddargirl/2576208.

Yeah, after many months, I finally have a new project uploaded.  smile

It's a science related project, and it also delves into a small part into what I sometimes do in real life outside of Scratch (seriously, the topic covered in that project is what I've been studying and doing outside of Scratch for a while). Hopefully not very boring to the Scratch audience, it would be nice to get more kids interested in math, science, and technology.  smile

Re: For SCIENCE! :D

Bump again.

I've got hundreds of views, but very few love-its, which makes me think that not many people like it. Suggestions/ideas for improvement are welcome.

Re: For SCIENCE! :D

To be honest, the scratch website lacks a key pillar in web design: discoverability.  New scratchers may not even look at the jumble of links thrown together at the bottom of their project, they may disregard it altogether.  And with discoverability at hand, accessibilty is also at stake by making scratch in flash.  Not to get off topic, i loved it!

Re: For SCIENCE! :D

My only suggestion, (for future scientific projects) is to have the subject be a little more, I don't know, general? I liked the project, and could understand it, but maybe others just didn't understand fully, and then didn't love it because of that. Hydrates are interesting, but science is one of my favorite subjects, so it may not be something to get people who don't like science interested. Just a thought.

I could understand if it goes over a ten-year-old's head, science taught at that age is pretty basic and doesn't go into chemistry and physics. Thing is, most of the active users on the site are around 13 years of age or older, so it shouldn't be too over their heads in this case. I mean, I thought about what words might not be hard to understand at first, so I ended up writing basic explanations after them, like "HYDROPHOBIC (water-hating)", I can't imagine getting really get more general than that. I'm certainly open to more ideas on making something more general if I missed something. Anyone care for an attempt at a re-write?

I'd view it!
