Scratch program pen color question!

Why does it set the pen color to red when I want it to be white, and blue when it's supposed to be black? It gets really annoying, and it happens a lot. Thanks in advance!

Duhhh, your abusing the

set pen color to ()
block. You should use
set pen shade to ()
.
