surprise project
there should be a surprise project section that shows projects that have less that 50 views so they canget on the front page!!

Actually, suggestions for the Scratch website and software go in the suggestions forums. I'll ask a moderator to move it there for ya. 
And, we already have a surprise project system in place over here that seems pretty similar to what you're suggesting.

It's technically frontpage, as you click a link on the front page to get there, but I honestly didn't know that search option was available till now...
Why are the secret organizations getting all the attention?

It used to be there, but it was removed. It might have been because inappropriate projects could be shown, or maybe just because the front page was getting too long.
You can always use the link provided by stevetheipad though.
