Hi, i've had a few projects on front page and after a bit of research into what projects get onto the front page, i've come up with the following information:
Top Loved:
The game with the most love its within 10 days old.
Top Downloaded:
The game with the most downloads within 7 days old.
Top Viewed:
The game with the most views within 4 days old.
Also, a game cannot be in more then one section, although a user can have several games on the front page.
So, if you want to know when your game is going to get on the front page, say in the top loved section, do this:
1. Look at all the games and have a look if any of them are nearly 10 days old. Once a game becomes 10 days old, it will be kicked off the top loved section and a new game will come in at the thid position.
2. Have a look at the third game in the top loved section and see how many love its it has. Once your game has this many love its, your game will be on front page, if it's less then 10 days old.
I think this system is good, as games that SOUND good (by looking at the title) will get more views and if the game IS good, it will get more love its and downloads and stay on the front page for longer then the 4 days a game that just gets views would be.
Thanks for reading and I'd like to see what people think of this system! Dibbo.

The idea of the "time limit" sounds really nice... Maybe the Scratch Team should implement it.

I investigated and made a thread like this a long time ago. My discoveries were Top viewed: 4 days, Top loved: 5 days, Top downloaded: 7 days. But I think yours is right now; it seems that is changed every now and then.
A long time ago, it was Top viewed: 5 days, Top loved: 7 days, Top downloaded: 14 days.

Nice research! Is it okay if I use this for an issue on my online magazine, T-Zine? I'll give you credit for it.
Here's an example of an issue of T-Zine: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Tzine/511501

interesting - i think it's good how it's changing like that - i think it's changing around because the scratch website and the front page is getting less views so to keep it fair the scratch team have changed how long a project stays on front page

They are two different projects; one has a period at the end, the other doesn't.

Not trying to get of subject but how do galleries get featured?
they have to get chosen by the scratch teams. i havnt got a gallery featured, but i think to get 1 featured you'll hav to be original, creative and have good games that are to do with the gallery title.
