Okay, so if Collab Counselors get a label under their name on the forums, why shouldn't the current curator have "Curator" under their name?
Credit to ImagineIt for the mockup

I don't see the point...
I would only cause people to want to become curators (or SDS curators) just for a different title under their name.

I don't think so. Isn't having your name on the front page enough?

Nobody did. That's just a mockup, which is a fake to illustrate what the are asking for. A picture is worth a thousand words!

I guess so. Now that I think about it, flaunting around your "Curator" status on the forums is really pointless because it is only needed on the home page where everyone views project. People like you don't have their names on the front page for being a moderator

I don't see how this would be helpful in any way, so I'm not sure it's a great idea. On top of that, the programming involved in making the current curator have the status would be a pain that wouldn't help, anyways.
I've always thought SDS curators, however, should have their own label for a few reasons:
1. Being an SDS Curator means you're trusted by the Scratch Team; this deserves some extra authority/authenticity behind their posts.
2. Contrary to common misconception, the SDS Curator label would not make SDS curating a game or any sort of cool status that people would want just for the title, it would only become a goal for Scratchers to want to achieve, to be trusted and to be able to give back to the community.

It wouldn't be a pain to program. Just add a few lines of code that check whether the user is the current curator (assuming the curator's username is stored in a database), and if it is, print "Curator" instead of their normal title.
And this thread isn't about SDS curators, you should point out those points in the thread suggesting SDS curators get a special title instead.

Actually it was being discussed above, too.
