could i do this
I know it is against Scratch rules to discuss politics, but i was thinking, with Scratch Team's permission, would it be okay to make a thread discussing your political idealogies as long as you dont discredit another's religion, and only those who dont get offended by it may post. It wouldnt get into deep stuff like same gender marriage or abortions, just s place to share your ideas and opinions with others about politics.

I think the no politics rule is in place not because Scratch doesn't trust the community to handle these kinds of discussion, but because even when you're being really careful about not offending anyone, there's a chance that somebody will feel offended from something you didn't even think could hurt.
If you want to discuss these things, there are other forums made specifically for this. Scratch is, after all, a programming site
