Bring Back the Phoenix Server Petition

As some of you who play Minecraft may know, the server called Phoenix, hosted by The-Whiz, went down recently. It was planned that the Scratchia server would receive the save file from Phoenix, so that we could still play on the Phoenix map. However, because of a conflict between The-Whiz and Nerve-splitter, Scratchia's description says "Phoenix map denied. Enjoy nothing" Because of one conflict, the players of Phoenix, who put so much hard work into this server, are suffering. Nerve planned to add a new Mob Arena, and new mini-games. He wanted to help.

However, there is still hope.

If enough people agree that Phoenix needs to be working again, The-Whiz may give Nerve the save file after all, and we can play on the Phoenix map in multi-player - while The-Whiz is giving out the file to download freely, in singleplayer, Phoenix just won't be the same.

If you agree, reply to this topic saying "I, (your username here), vote for Phoenix to return."

Okay, I don't mean to be rude, but Phoenix was a great server. I don't see why it's so hard to just give the map file. Anyways, this might be pointless because 51037 offered to host it - I just remembered. I don't mean to bother you though, I just got really annoyed because I spent over 24 hours on Phoenix.

It's not that hard to do. Once you've done it you need never do anything more for it again.

You don't have to keep pestering him about it. I know it sounds like a simple procedure to have this server go up in some other way, but perhaps Whiz has something going on that prevents him from wanting to keep it up. Even if not, if he doesn't want to, he doesn't want to.

The thing is, all Qazedt/TheWhiz has to do is upload the files to a site like dropbox or mediafire, and give Nervesplitter the link.  That's all that needs to happen.  I'm not saying that Qazedt/TheWhiz had any obligation to Nervesplitter, us, or the Phoenix community, but I mean, why don't you want to give Nervesplitter the files?  It will not harm you in anyway, and only take a few minutes of your time, and it will make a lot of people happy.

EDIT: @jj, I would go on, but there is far to much connection lag to make it enjoyable.

Is there? I know players from all over the world that say that there is no lag whatsoever. Must be a problem at your end. Did you have many apps open at the time?  hmm

It's lag caused by the connection, not by your actual server.  Pretty much, I'm saying you have a horrible internet connection.  tongue   Anyways, I can connect to other servers just fine, so it's not that I have too much running.  Anyways, we're getting off topic.

Re: Bring Back the Phoenix Server Petition

Guys. Guys.

I overreacted.

It's Qaz's decision, and he WILL be posting the file so maybe someone will be willing to host another server with the Phoenix map.

And still, if Qaz is putting the map up for download, won't Nerve be able to get it anyways?

Anyways, I probably got too mad about this, so yeah. I'll probably ask a mod to close this topic soon.

The thing is, now Qaz simply isn't posting the map.

Welp.

Sorry, guys, I had no idea that he'd react like that.

hmm  Anyways, worse things happen, so I guess we shouldn't get super upset over this. It's pointless. After all, Minecraft IS just a video game.  hmm  Maybe it's time for a new, better server? Phoenix was dying anyways.

That map was boring after the first week or two anyway.

Re: Bring Back the Phoenix Server Petition

This is pathetic, Whiz/Qaz.

The fact that you said you'd host it then lied is *.

The answer is so simple:
go to website host
select download server files or w.e it is
put on desktop in a folder
put in .zip file
put on mediafire
give link
???
profit

Takes like 5 minutes.

You said you would give us the map files... (thats what bbbeb meant by 'host it')

I'm probably not going to host the server any more after this month's payment period expires, unless something hugely unexpected changes my mind. The server will be up until the 18th (that's 4 more days). I'll be putting the world file up for download at some time afterward.

Sorry, folks.

Note that you said "I'll be putting the world file up for download at some time afterward."  Of course 'afterwards' =/= now, but if you're going to do it eventually, why not do it now, or at least say when you're going to do it, or that you're lazy, instead of lashing out at us.

This topic seems to be bringing off-site drama into the Scratch forums.  The owner of the file is aware of the issue and it his or her choice as to whether to make it available or not so further discussion is not likely to be productive.  Closing.
