Several people from my school are spamming the Scratch website in order to create spam accounts on Mod Share.
What should I do about this?
They are all being jerks about this and refuse to stop it. After the first few, I IP banned my school, but they started using proxies.

Since the root of the problem is with Mod Share, I suggest having an account approval system. This way they'll stop making accounts here and on Mod Share when they find out they have to get approved before being allowed to do anything with their account.

That would cause people to be annoyed, and they'll create even more spam accounts. Should I report the ones that are here to the Scratch team?

I don't think the Scratch Team would delete those accounts unless you have proof of them doing bad things or violating the terms of use on Scratch. Because they have no proof the same person created the spam accounts on MS, I doubt they'd have proof enough to be able to ban those accounts.

(And...)
Some of them have come from this IP, so I can use that as proof. I can also use the fact that they have had no activity whatsoever.
Btw, I saw your post on Mod Share.

Meh...you can contact the ST, but I doubt they'll be able to do much as they haven't done anything here.

I'll wait until there are more, and then I can build a better case.

It doesn't really affect Scratch if they're just making accounts

It's a waste of space on the server, and it really annoys me.

It shouldn't, though.
The only reason bullies bully is for a reaction. If you don't do anything about it, and don't say anything about it, or anything, they'll stop eventually.
The fact that you can't do anything about it, and are still getting mad is only going to make them do it more.

Ok, true.
On the plus side, I now have some blank users to test with on the anti-spam software LS and I are writing.

OK, the problem has been fixed.
We now have a very complicated anti-spam script

People from my school get the school IP banned like twice a year

That would happen if they didn't start using proxies. Anyway, as LS97 said, the problem is fixed now, as it is much harder to spam Mod Share with disposable Scratch accounts.

I think the easiest way is to report constant spammers and trolls.

I would do that, but it is hard to prove that they are spammers.
The only evidence I have is the lack of activity.

If you think they are spammers, report them.

They are creating accounts here just so they can create spam accounts on Mod Share. I don't exactly have any other evidence, but would that be considered a definition of "spamming"?

I don't think so because it's not spamming Scratch. They don't ban someone for making accounts (I think).

Ok.
However, it gets worse: some of my teachers are obnoxious and are encouraging this!
Hopefully, the fraud alert software that LS97 and I made will block them all.

Yeah, very. However, I started fighting back. I've already gotten someone's website (that was hosting proxies to bypass an IP ban) destroyed.

I would like that, but they'll use proxies, so it would be pointless.
