It will only compress if the file size is over 10 MB.

it's compressed stuff smaller than 10MB for me, but that's not the problem anymore.

no, it can compress smaller files. There is no set limit at 10 MB.
Though I think it won't compress anything less than 1MB. But don't hold me to it

Actually it depends on the project content. Scratch won't compress anything that it feels is already compressed to its limit. Chances are that, the more simple the image or music media, the more likely Scratch will not bother to compress it: so if you have a 1MB image that has a lot of color, then it's compressable; whereas a 1MB image with few colors is less likely to be compressed.

Did you try uploading it without checking the Compress Sounds and Images checkbox?
If so, I don't know what to say
Maybe try adding a long music track?

untick the compress images and sound box. that might work.

If a project has a lot of pixel art, it's likely that it should be compressed, especially if its size is more than 1 MB (1000 kB).

Create your own topic for that as this topic isn't about updating projects; it's about the error when compressing prior to upload.
