How does animation work?

Hello I am new to Scratch,
I am very confused. In school there was a few student made flims from scratch to teach us. How do you make the sprite go where you want? Everytime I click the green flag it moves up and up. How do I get it to move all over?
Thanks an advance,
Becca612

Re: How does animation work?

Now that's probably because of your scripts. You want to make the script follow want you want. You see those x/y positions? Those are to be the positions of the sprites. Use the movement blocks to move them in different positions.

When you use the Move ... Steps block, the sprite will go so many steps in the direction it is heading.  You can change the direction it is heading by using the Point in Direction block from the Movement tab.  Give it a try  smile
