I am trying to install the latest version of Audacity from their web site. I download, install with no issues, then when I try to run it it gives me error 14001, incorrect configuration. I re-installed, nothing. I re-downloaded the installer, nothing. I tried the .zip file. Nothing. Any ideas what is wrong? I have Windows XP pro SP2 or SP3.

Did you try to restart the computer? Maybe that might help.
I've heard of this problem before, although I've never encountered it myself. Something about Audacity running on XP systems doesn't work out so well. If all else fails, then you might want to try switching back to an older version of Audacity until the installer gets fixed.

Get Windows Vista or 7.
Or Linux.

Sure, I'd love a Mac, just give me 2,000 dollars.
Sorry, I DO want a Mac, but Mac users think that Mac is the end-all solution to computer problems. Here's a strange fact: not everyone can spend two grand on a computer.
Anyway, as I said I downgraded and it has everything that I need, thanks everyone.

I have a Mac mini, that's only $600.
But anyway, I was only saying that because Lolkid told me to.
