My parents won't let me use my webcam with the prototype because they don't know if anybody else can see me through it.
can one of the ST help?
Thanks

It's not possible to create a Scratch project that records your webcam's video, don't worry The Scratch Team wouldn't be spying on you either.

Well I'm certainly not the Scratch Team, but perhaps it would help put your parents' mind at ease if you demonstrated that once you load the project, you can completely log off the internet, even unplug the network cable and it still works fine. The video doesn't go anywhere besides your own web browser.
You could also point out that this is MIT, a major university. Just about the most respectable website you could hope for.

I can understand why they might be concerned. However, the Scratch Team values the privacy of all Scratchers. As far as I know there is no capability to record video or transmit video from the prototype -only to process it on the fly. What would it take to convince them?

Yeah, he knows.
And because the video can't be saved, it can't be transmitted, or saved in cloud data.
