Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

When you click on drawing a new sprite. There's no way to delete it so you just have to start all over again. And there's no way to make my own pictures and I can't import my old ones, so there was nothing for me to do. Over all, it sucked. Gee Scratch team, thanks for getting my hopes up...  sad

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

PROS:  The online  project-creator/project-editor.  The backpack tool is nice, but I feel that it could be greatly improved or replaced with something better.

CONS:  What I found very displeasing was the inability to log in, and therefore I was not able to experiment with the cloud variables.  I also noticed that many things - like the new paint editor - that we saw in the preview video are not currently available.  Another annoying issue with not being able to log in, is that we can not experiment with the new "follow" button on galleries.  The final drawback to the current Scratch 2.0 prototype is it's extreme limitations for the creation of a new block.  I can't make a boolean or a reporter; we need to have this!  I find it also necessary to have a second "[clone startup]" hat block:

 {clone [clone 2 v] startup} //This is a "Control" hat block
This block is essential to making a sprite that has varied behaviors based on the number of clones it has made.  This other approach would also work however:
 {number of clones} //This is a "Control" reporter block
and
{[number of clones v] of [Sprite1 v]} //This the "Sensing" ([data type v] of [Sprite]) reporter block
One of these two options is a must have for projects with advanced cloning.

*** Please note that i only used "{" , "}" to emphasize that these blocks do not exist. ***

Thanks,

Nope! It should work with IE8 - I'll do a little testing over here.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

I'm archiving as much of the site I can.

I'm having to edit some parts, as, you know, Google Chrome can't save videos as such.

Tried saving the editor, all I got is the viewer  sad  Although, it did give me access to the painting thing, but I couldnt draw, just interact.

It's actually turning into more of a 2.0 mod XD

I'll release it later, but please note, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO VIEW PROJECTS FOR SOME ODD REASON!

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Cool! 3 years of waiting, I don't know if I can wait 2 more months. (Actually, I heard of scratch only about 4 or 5 months ago, so I guess I can wait 2 months.) I was speaking for the old-timers of scratch (4-5 year olds)

On the chat projects, I cant see replies. I checked out the code, and it seems fine. Is that a cloud variable problem?

It doesnt really have anything... scratch 1.4 is currently better.

yeah, my favorite part was getting back on the main site.

I don't really see how lots of you don't like the new one... It is SOOOO much faster then the last one... Plus it has cloning, video, creating blocks, vector graphics, and a sound editor! I think just the speed alone is way better!

Those with special permissions (aka mods and a few educators) could.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

I don't think making the whole thing in flash is a good idea anymore, I have a pretty old computer (4 years old) and I could barely run it. I tried with Chrome too and no dice
