That could just be for this, though.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Meh, I expected it to be a lot better. You can't really do anything at the moment since most features either aren't made yet or require an account, and quite frankly, I hate the layout.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

My question. There still gonna be a downloadable verison right? Cause i don't have internet all the time on my computer, and it would stink to only be able to do it online.

There will be when it comes out, but not at the moment.

@Scratch Team, Mods: Do you guys use Django for the site? Or is it just for the administration page?

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

My computer doesn't want to work with the camera feature. Oh well. This is a cool alpha, i like the custom blocks idea. Also, you guys better be fixing the bug in 1.4 where if your editing a costume and press OK, it scrolls your view all the way to the top, sometimes i have 300+ costumes in a sprite, and i have to re-align a few, but i have to scroll down every time... Lol i know that was random.

Anyway i like the new, smoother layout of the program, and the whole feel of the new site too. Sure it's a change, but i like it!

Keep up the good work scratch team!

This is an alpha version, remember? ALPHA-VERSION. Guys, there's gonna be about half a year(maybe more, from what i've gathered) until the full version is out. hating on the scratch team for the alpha version that they've been kind enough to release to the public is ... just mean, frankly. I don't mean to offend you, but you should be thanking them that they released in the first place.

And i know it's "what do you think about it" but that isn't exactly constructive criticism, at least to me.

That confused me, too. Actually, the login system only works for admins and mods right now.  smile

But the login page doesn't work for iOS, anyway.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Epic, but could use a few improvements...
Custom values and booleans (predicates) as well as value and boolean inputs for blocks.
The <I am clone> boolean
Script inputs for custom blocks
A block editor instead of the block script being associated with a sprite, for better organization.

Essentially, it should be a bit more like Snap! (BYOB).
They did it in 3 months from scratch.

You can't login right now, not until 2.0 is released. So, you can't do cloud data right now.  sad

We are in fact using Django for the site. (Though the editor is done in Flash)

It was just an opinion. And the only reason I even tried it out was to check out how cloud variables and lists work, and then I found out I can't. I respect the fact that not all features will be done, but I'm annoyed that virtually no new features are accessible apart from the "See inside" thing, and possibly one or two more. I'd've been willing to wait a while longer for the prototype if it meant we'd actually be able to use the features.

Using the word 'hate' was a bit much, in my opinion.
That's all i'm gonna say though, if you wanna just disregard what the scratch team was nice enough to give us, then whatever.

As suspected, pre-alpha projects work with it!
