I don't think so. Just like you can't open 1.3 projects in 1.2.

but 1.3 projects can be opened by 1.4 right?
p.s: sorry for kinda hijacking thread

Um, like Stickman704, I have to hijack this thread with my questions, too:
1) Would I have to uninstall 1.3.1 first in order for 1.4 to work, or will installing 1.4 take care of everything?
2) Will 1.4 remove any pre-existing SCRATCH projects on my computer?

CheddarGirl, the new installation should overwrite the old scratch directories so all projects saved in the scratch program directories will be lost.

Hmm... I didn't encounter that problem when converting from 1.3 to 1.3.1, but considering how 1.4 will probably be different, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a copy of my projects on a pen drive just in case.

OH NOEZ!
I have to work my way up to complete versions of all my projects before 1.4 arrives. After all I can't stay with 1.3 while the new version is out. That would be like soooo last minute!

Actually, if 1.3 projects are compatible with 1.4, then you have no need to worry.

EVERY version of Scratch will be compatible with older projects unless it has "old blocks" like "stretch" or "say nothing" (anyway, stretch sounds cool... Why not make it come back on 1.4?).
