Exactly, veteran only states experience which isn't the only thing a Pro Scratcher requires.
I doubt a perfect name will be found, but I think Pro Scratch and my system above would fit best. But as I said, "Pro" seems self-righteous.
We need a name that doesn't make other Scratchers jealous. Veteran Scratcher or Scratch Mentor would be just fine.
Well said, Sausagefanclub. That sums up my argument perfectly.

What I'm saying is that like lightnin said, Scratchers will want to spend the time and effort it takes to become a Pro, they work hard to get the title, meanwhile helping the community.

You didn't need to post then if you weren't contributing anything

I think that the title of Senior Scratcher best suits the rank. It gives the feeling that they've been here a while, and take an active part in the community. It also flows well as a title. I think you should go with that one.

Hmmm...
I'm all for simple, clean, and to-the-point names, so this is the system I came up with, consistently using the Scratch name:
New Scratcher - Recently joined Scratch, and/or is still learning how it works
Scratcher - Knows the Scratch basics, has been around for a while and is active
Pro Scratcher - Has been an active Scratch member for a while and has considerable knowledge about the community and software
Scratch Moderator - Has the knowledge of a Pro Scratcher, but has proven to be especially helpful, and therefor has powers and privileges
Scratch Team - Is hand selected by the current Scratch Team to assist in various parts of the community/development
This system is again very simple for a new member to understand, and aligns all the titles with the Scratch name which makes more sense.I disagree with needing knowledge of Scratch - there's some really helpful and active members here who's projects are quite frankly awful (sorry but it's true, in my opinion), so they'd never be able to get the new rank. And who decides if they have a "basic understanding" or not? It's a matter of opinion. They should go by how active, helpful and kind the user is, not by whether they understand Scratch or not.
By the way, what's everyone's opinion on Senior Scratcher? I have to say, I think it sounds perfect, but I never really got feedback on it.I don't, that's part of a community moderator's job: answering questions, and it should be part of a pro Scratcher's job, too. And, I don't think projects have much to do with this, as long as they have posted ones that comply with the community guidelines.
And I'm not a fan of senior scratcher, as it sounds like an old Scratcher which isn't what we're looking for.
Senior Scratcher is the best name I've seen on the entire thread. And,`although senior can mean older, it can also mean more experienced, or that you've been with something for an extended period of time. Although I think this is the perfect name, I would not be opposed to Pro Scratcher.

This.
I don't really think things that have Pro or something like that in the name are really a good idea because that'd increase the amount of clamoring for the title.
