I don't know for sure if this goes here, so it would be nice if a mod would tell me. Thanks!
I just got Dropbox and wondered what kind of things other people were using it for. So far, I've used it to take a few movies, use an app to make it into one movie, and put it on my computer. I've also did this: I made some simple HTML(5) with Notepad, put it into Dropbox, and tried it on the iPod. It's actually quite cool. Alert boxes turn into those boxes that are like the username and password ones (they're blue).
What are you doing with it?
If you don't have Dropbox, you can go here to get it.
P.S. This is basically the same thing as an "Official Dropbox Topic", but those are getting old.

I use it for hosting files, mostly MP3s but just files that I share with people usually on chat

I use it to share things that I've created or screenshots of things on chats with people, most often.

And right now I'm playing Dropquest II.

I use it to put .apk files temporarily so I don't have to fiddle with USB connectors to put my apps on my android tabby.
I win!

I installed it on my Android phone but never used it. I keep a 4GB flash drive in my pocket and never had to transfer stuff between the phone and computers so far. And I use MediaFire for all my file uploading purposes.

I use 4shared and mediafire for file uploads but dropbox seems cool, I'll try it one day.
Recently I've also been using Google Drive. It's really nice because you get a folder on your computer that syncs automatically.

That... is exactly what Dropbox is.

Oh, what kind of storage do you get?
Looks like it's the same as Google drive.
I prefer Google because of how well it syncs with my Google account. I might use dropbox when my storage runs out on Google xD

2 GB free, although you get more if you invite people and they join, as well as for some other things. I have 3.2 GB of space.
One thing I like about Dropbox that I'm not sure that Drive has is that you can easily do a direct file on the internet if in your Public folder, like so.

Hmm.
I'm not sure. I'll check. I've only started using drive since a few days ago xD
Yep, you can do it. It's one of the privacy settings. Private, Unlisted (can still share links) or public.

Ah. Still, it's not built directly into the shell like Dropbox is, so I'm not as much of a fan.

Are all files public by dropbox default?

No, you have folders. Files are only public if they're in the public folder. You can also have private folders and shared folders. If someone adds a file to the shared folder, it adds it to your computer as well.

I use it for sharing stuff

Reverse that for me. :3

I'm using it right now to sync files between VMs. Not the most efficient, but it's simple
