Hi Scratchers!
I have come up with an idea, to list my opinion, of the twelve greatest people that have lived or are still living now. This has not yet happened, but I will create a interactive slideshow, or some other kind of way to find infomation about my opinion of the twelve greatest people on earth. The people that I have seleted are:

1. Albert Einstein (Science & Math)
2. Steve Jobs (Technology)
3. J.K. Rowling (Literature)
4. Anne Frank (Inspirational Literature)
5. William Shakespeare (Great Works Of Literature)
6. Sir Isaac Newton (Science)
7. John Lennon (Music)
8. Sir Winston Churchill (Politics)
9. Mark Zuckerberg (Internet Technology)
10. George Clooney (Performing Arts)
11. Leonardo da Vinci (Invention & Art)
12. Alexander Fleming (Chemistry, Science)

Good list! Though I'm not a fan of Shakespeare, I do admit he played a big part in literature and infliuenced many people.

for us pupils to read.)
Isn't the first interpretation easier to read?

What about civil rights leaders? If I did this list, I would include Mahatma Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr. Howerver, this is a really good list!

Yes! He's the path to God! It's in John 14:6. And He's the Son of God! I think that more than qualifies Him for this list.

Why no religious topics? I've checked the guidelines, and there's nothing against it. And if anyone tried to start a flame war over this, they would be reported.

Why no religious topics? I've checked the guidelines, and there's nothing against it. And if anyone tried to start a flame war over this, they would be reported.

It's a rule we had in the old Miscellaneous forum because religious topics tended to require constant monitoring to keep them civil. They were just too much work to keep open so they were eventually not allowed at all - along with some other contentious areas such as Politics. There is currently no restriction on religious topics in any of our forums - provided they fit the forum guidelines and people are respectful of other people's beliefs.

However, I don't feel that an in-depth religious discussion is appropriate for this particular topic at this time. If you look at the first post, Atmospheric states that the project he/she is planning on making will consist of the 12 greatest people in their opinion. I'm not sure from the post if Atmospheric is even looking for our input as to who should be on the list. Let's wait for more clarification from Atmospheric before giving further opinions.

Believe it or not, I didn't add any religious people, because I was scared that there would be some kind of war against this. But it seems that I may request for this topic to be closed, because if it is going to create conflict, then I may as well avoid this by closing it. So, request for topic to be closed.

I do not mean any harm, or conflict. I am not being insulting, I may have not mentioned those people but it doesn't mean I don't like or dislike them. This was my opinion, which I have clearly stated. I still think those people you have mentioned are fascinating, very fascinating, but I don't think there should be any more comments or input, seeing as everyone has seemed to forget that this had been a opinion, and not someone else's. I know that everyone has different opinions, but if you and me are going to debate about it, then it is no longer a opinion/debate. It starts to turn into conflict and hate. And I know that the scratch team are doing their very best to avoid this, so that is why I am requesting for this to be closed. I have no flame against religious people, and infact I actually think these people are BRILLIANT. But I didn't mention them, to -
Avoid Conflict and hate etc. So I hope you understand my reasons,

I agree, but please do not create a debate/war over this. There are MANY MANY brilliant people, and I found it hard to choose. I would have mentioned any religious people, but I was scared that it would be the wrong choice, in-case it would start people debating and hating each other.
