The Scratch team at the MIT Media Lab is working on a newer version of Scratch. With some new features that you can see in the video.

Because only Scratch Team members can view it now. On May 17th, they will let everyone try it.

DO NOT LET SCRATCH 2.0 INTO THE WILD! DOWN WITH SCRATCH 2.0! Why? Check out my project. Scratch will be drained of meaning.

HATERS GONNA HATE
I COULD go on a long rant on how your opinion makes no sense, but I think I'm above that....
I'll just explain why some of your things are wrong.
First of all, Animation will not be obsolete. Second, video blocks?! There's not video blocks. The only video thing is the old video morph.
Harder to draw sprites? All you saw in the video was the Scaling sprites. Vector graphics make it better and easier.
And you will know when someone posts a project because you will be FOLLOWING THEM. It's like friends.

Cool! This definitely sounds awesome!
If someone programs a project during the preview period, will they be able to save their work for later, or will is this a temporary experiment?
(unfortunately I think I know what the answer is)

I think you'll at least be able to save projects locally, but I dunno.

Cloud variables and cloning will add entire new dimensions to Scratch. A new - and much higher - bar for "awesome" projects will soon be set! The "backpack" is a really cool idea; the website might take some getting use to though! xD

I have so many ideas for cloning, on how to make so many cool games on Scratch. I just can't wait. sadly, this will only be for a few days.

My best guess is that it will be available somewhere by clicking the "Discuss" bar.

I love everything about the ways to make things easier and have better graphics, but I don't like the idea of the new website design. It kinda looks like one of those sites where you post a photo that is on a 2 dollar budget.
