How does text on sprites work exactly?

I've noticed that when you put text on a sprite, it doesn't become part of the image, it stays text.

That's very handy when you want to edit it later, but I wonder... does that mean everyone who views my project needs to have the same font I used? Or even if they do have it, is it possible their version will be a little different and won't look the same as on my screen?

Re: How does text on sprites work exactly?

Hi ManaUser, when a project is uploaded to the Scratch website, the text will show up with whatever font you used online. However, for users who download the project and want to edit it, they will need to have the same font if they want the font to remain the same (otherwise the font will change to the default font).
