Is it worth it?

Is it worth the extra $100 for the 32GB version of the iPod Touch? I'll most likely get the 8GB version.

If I do get the 8GB version and decide I need more storage, are there services that allow you to have online storage for the iPod touch etc. so I can store more stuff on it?

Thanks guys  smile

How much storage was on it, and what did you use it mostly for? (Did you have many apps on it?)

It was 8 then I got the 32 gigabyte one, I used most of the space on apps and I had a lot of apps.

Well, I don't think I'll get a lot of apps, it will mostly be for music and books. A bit of web browsing as well.

I prefer my Mac for doing anything serious.

Re: Is it worth it?

Depends. I'd never get an 8GB, not enough memory for all my pictures and apps.

Will you have lots of pictures/videos on it? Are you into gaming on it?

I'll take a few quick pics, but I'll use my camera most of the time. I won't do gaming much, since I prefer PC/Mac gaming.

Re: Is it worth it?

Personally, I have more than 8GB of music, but why would I ever want to listen to all of it between visits to my computer? I'm not always in the mood for a certain genre of music so I'd rather take the time to swap my tracks around on my music player and save a load of money I can use for something better elsewhere  wink

I do not believe you would need that much space; 8GB is quite a lot.

That's what I thought, I'll only sync some of the music on my computer, and change it around so that I can listen to different types of music and stuff.

8 GB theoretically holds almost 2000 songs I think, although it will be less for me since I use Lossless for a lot of my music when possible.

Yeah, I have the 8 gig one and if you're careful you fine, if you jam everything into it then maybe you should get a 32 :b

No, it comes to 16GB

I have the older 32GB. I would recommend it because if you want to use the ipod touch to it's full extent you need a lot of apps. If you're just getting it for music, I would suggest getting the older ipod nano that has the camera (not the new square thing).

You should practice calling it storage rather than memory, so it doesn't get confused with RAM.  smile

I think 8GB will be ok, since I can change around what's in it, for the occasion.  tongue

Re: Is it worth it?

For me, 8GB's fine since even if I do have like 3000 songs I lower the quality a teensy weensy bit - so little that it's not noticeable unless you play it so loud it'll deafen you, but it knocks off about 3MB off the file size. From what you've said previously though, you prefer to have the quality of your audio as high as possible, so 8GB probably wouldn't be enough for you. Go for the 32 one.  smile

One of the bad things about iPods is they don't take memory cards.  hmm

Yea, I prefer lossless, and I hate the sound of over-compressed mp3s  tongue

I don't think I really need the 32, as I can swap around what goes in my iPod and what doesn't.

Sure the 32GB is better, just don't want to save up for it  wink

It'd probably be a real pain though, constantly transferring stuff from your iPod to your computer and vica versa.
