Scratch team should age restrict projects instead of removing them

you know that projects get removed from the site, instead the scratch team could give it a age rating from 6-21, so if scratchers that are too young to view a project, that project will not be visible to them when they roam around the site.

Re: Scratch team should age restrict projects instead of removing them

But why would you want to divide up the community like that? Also, someone who can view those projects might mention it, and other users who can't might get confused...
Anyways, age restriction of features has always been declined.

what if someone lied about their age, pretending to be older saw a horror project rated 18 then got really scared and had nightmares the rest of their life.

Very few users are 18+ and a project that innapropiate shouldn't be on the site.

Then they shouldn't have lied  smile
In general, when you lie about something on the internet, you have to take your responsibilities for it.

It would still be accessible, though.

Re: Scratch team should age restrict projects instead of removing them

I'm not a fan of this. People'll just lie about their age, and as Sci said, it'll separate the community and cause confusion.

Then they get what they deserve for lying.

Re: Scratch team should age restrict projects instead of removing them

Plenty of people of 21 would want to use this program or help out on the site. It's a learning experience designed for mostly anyone, so I disagree.

Then how about non-members? Their aged will not be known. There is already a Not For Everyone rating.
