From now on, please refer to the Scratch Day 2011 pre-alpha as "Ye olde pre-alpha", using an English accent dating roughly from the 14th century. Cuz that's about how old it is.  tongue

Hmm, alright. Though I can't make any promises about the accent because I haven't heard anyone from c. 14th century England speak before ^^

OK then. The Scratch 2.0 article on the Scratch Wiki now says:

An early version of Scratch 2.0 (known as "Ye olde pre-alpha" by the Scratch Team[4]) that resembles the Experimental Viewer was previewed at Scratch Day at MIT 2011.

I think the pre-alpha will work under any amount of bits as long as the suitable Flash Player for that many bits is installed.

You can ask the ST very nicely for it.
Or you can wait less than 2 weeks for the Scratch Day 2012 beta, like everyone else.

Well last year they released a pre-alpha but they didn't want it distributed outside Scratch Day. Maybe it'll be the same this year.

I've heard that the testing site will be open to everyone, but just for that day. Official from Lightnin.

That's no different from just saying that it'll be available then. I just added another restriction to what has been said earlier.

DO NOT LET SCRATCH 2.0 INTO THE WILD! DOWN WITH SCRATCH 2.0! Why? Check out my project. Scratch will be drained of meaning.

TEAMS, the advantages of Scratch 2.0 will completely outweigh the (valid) points you raised in our project. There's no need to be pessimistic about this. As with any great change, it takes a while to get the hang of it, but you'll love it too once it's released!  smile

You can think that if you want. We'll be enjoying the luxurious 2.0, while you'll be stuck with the cruddy old 1.4.  smile

Re: Does anyone have Scratch 2.0 Beta/Pre-Alpha?!?!?

To my understanding, the Scratch 2.0 pre-alpha is so outdated that it shares nothing in common with the current Scratch 2.0 prototype coming out soon, so it should be shared. Closing thread.
