Is that like with Windows 7 taskbar icons?

Where it automatically stacks taskbar icons from the same application.

No, it's not based on the page. You'll see (in a few months  wink  )

Oh, well I've never liked the stacking function on Windows.

One reason I don't particularly care for 7. Macs are similar though, aren't they?

No. They OSX has a dock, not a taskbar.

But TBH Windows 7 taskbar seems to be a cheap in-betweener of the original taskbar and the OSX dock.

The dock is so much better for productivity.

Re: Best internet browsers?

The dock and Win7 taskbar are really similar in my eyes. It's really difficult to see multiple instances of a program with the dock, too. WinXP/LXDE will always be best in my eye.  smile

Re: Best internet browsers?

You could say that, and TBH I did think the same thing when I just started with Mac, but now, I find that this way of doing things is much more intuitive and more productive.

Also, using spaces (workspaces on Ubuntu, they are awesome), as well as Mission Control/Exposé makes up for any productivity lost by being unable to see multiple instances of the same program. Also, who uses multiple instances anyway? In this world of tabs and fullHD displays  tongue

Re: Best internet browsers?

I do. Sometimes I like having multiple Chromium windows for less clutter, I sometimes have tons of Notepad instances open, and on occasion I'll have more than one instance of Audacity open. Not to mention multiple Explorer windows.

Well, I won't open too  many tabs on any browser.

I do sometimes have lots of text files open but Textwrangler has a really good document manager on a sidebar.

Right clicking on most dock icons will show all windows open from that app. Same with Finder.

Re: Best internet browsers?

Still, I like how easy it is with XP. And I could use Notepad++ or gedit both which have tabs but I often just prefer the simplicity of Notepad unless I'm coding (++) or actually doing actual writing (gedit).

I dislike the taskbar of Windows 7.
It's extremely annoying and feels cluttered.

Aurora isn't an alternative to FF, it's the equivalent of the beta channel of Chrome (I think). Stainless is Mac-only but looks interesting.

I do agree that Chromium is brilliant, although you can get bad builds. The last build I had crashed after using incognito and then navigating to another page. This one seems fine though.

You've got it wrong xD

Aurora is a beta-alpha test thingy for Firefox.

Stainless is only for Mac? I didn't realise  tongue

I hope you don't use nightly builds with Chromium  smile

I don't have it wrong. Aurora:Firefox::Chrome Beta:Chrome
And yep.

And yes I do use Chromium nightlies. Problem?

You do have it wrong.  tongue  Firefox Beta:Firefox :: Chrome Beta:Chrome.
The FF development channels go: Nightly>Aurora>Beta>Release.

FF is the best.  big_smile
If you're looking for a new one though, try Opera.

If you want new, but don't care about bad, try Opera or Netscape. Netscape is old, and Opera is just... Bad.

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.
