Could you explain how you are connecting? What IP are you using to connect?

If you are hosting the server on the same computer as the client, use the IP "127.0.0.1".

Ehh.. for the IP you could use "localhost" in the IP area aswell.
EDIT: Also, You don't have to port-forward, If your internet connection is direct to your computer, you can use your external IP Address. You can find this on: www.whatismyip.com. But, if you're connected through a Router, you need to find the router's external IP address.

The router's IP address is the same one as what that URL will give you, since whenever you browse the internet you use the network's IP, not your local one 

When using the external IP address, however, your router must be configured to forward all connections on port 42001 to your specific computer. Otherwise the requests will be lost when they get to the router!

But, if you're connected DIRECTLY to the internet - like without a modem or router, the IP that the website gives you is your external one.
