I love to Mesh (PUN) around on scratch 1.4.1 at my house, but at my school they only have 1.3.1 and I was wondering, is it possible to mesh on that? If so please tell me how.
You can host a Mesh without any modification of Scratch (just enable remote sensor connections), but to connect it would either require modifying the source-code or creating an external program that connects Scratch to the host device.

The wiki, source of all wisdom and knowledge, suggests that Mesh was added in 1.4: so the easy is no, I think. Presumably there's some way of modding Scratch to add the functionality, but it's probably easier just to suggest to them that they update. Why are they still using the old version, anyhow?

Ah, I didn't realise remote sensor connections were added in 1.3! Nice thought.

Lol they use 1.3 at my school too. I hate how it doesn't have a proper menu at the top.
EDIT: 1000th post

Yeah, that's annoying. At my school, we have to get our own comps, so that's not an issue. At my old school, I convinced them to update about 50 programs, including Scratch.

I checked the source code of 1.3.1. It has Mesh.
So you can enable it by the same way of 1.4.
http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Mesh
Then you may find Mesh items from Extras menu.

It won't work like that, that was the first thing I tried

Hmm. It works fine on my PC.
Likely explanations are you don't have a write permission to save the image file, or the port #42001 is closed.

How did you get that thing on the extras menu, I can't find anywhere to do it, even editing scripts it just closes up when I make random changes that might work

Just click the Extras menu (without Shift). You need modify the source code before do it, of course.
